LGBT Victim Advocate

Job Summary:

  • LGBT Victims Advocate will provide services and activities that assist victims of domestic and/or sexual violence in understanding the dynamics of victimization and in stabilizing their lives after a victimization including, immediate crisis intervention, hotline counseling, assist clients in locating, securing, furnishing, moving into, and maintaining appropriate housing, provide information and referral for general assistance, etc.
    Follow up case management/visits to ensure/assist with sustainability. Will provide oversight of the translation on all Underserved materials and interpretation requests and work with Centro Civico Outreach worker.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in, Social Work or Mental Health Counseling, preferred LMSW, LCSW.
  • Paid Case Management experience.

Program Director of LGBT Health Services

Job Summary:

  • Program Coordinator LGBT Health Services is responsible for advocacy, counseling, group facilitation, training & technical assistance, event coordination, and program evaluation. This includes Black & Latin@ Gay Pride, the LGBT Student roundtable, training, and technical assistance projects, The lead on the biennial UTD LGBT POC Health Conference, and End-of-Year Program Evaluation and Comprehensive Community-Wide Pulse Check Survey.

HIV/HCV Program Coordinator

Job Summary:

  • The HIV/HCV Young Men who have sex with Men(YMSM) Program Coordinator responsibilities include coordination of program activities; facilitate homegrown and evidence-based intervention sessions, and general program operations. As part of In Our Own Voices, Inc. (IOOV) LGBT HEALTH Services team, the Program Coordinator will integrate and oversee HIV/STI/HCV awareness, risk assessment, counseling, and testing. Major Activities:

Community Engagement Specialist LGBT

Job Summary:

  • The position of Community Engagement Specialist will be responsible for providing culturally-competent outreach and education programming to the LGBT POC communities, which will increase the number of program participants receiving comprehensive moral support, advocacy, and HIV, STI, and Hepatitis C prevention services and reduce community stigmas and barriers, and promote positive sexual health to achieve the outcome of reduced new infections and suppressed viral counts in Fulton, Montgomery, Albany, Schenectady, and Rensselaer Counties.

In-House Graphic Designer

Job Summary:

  • Graphic Designer works with the senior team to conceptualize and deliver print and digital marketing and communications materials, consistent with the organization’s established brand standards.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Be responsible for designing and updating marketing materials, including; advertisements, infographics, brochures, signage, direct mail, social media, promotional products, presentations, logos, and invitations using the Adobe Creative Suite.

Social Worker- Intake & Assessment

Job Summary:

  • Provides intake and assessment coverage for the entire organization, accepting walk-in or telephone intakes following intake protocols.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Open New cases.
  • Maintain written case notes.
  • Develop protection and safety plans and arrange for implementation of service plans.
  • Processes telephone and walk-in inquiries by assessing needs, scheduling intakes, and collecting referral source data.

LGBT Crime Victim Assistance Specialist

Job Summary:

Oversees the implementation of IOOV LGBT Crime Victim's Program service for all LGBT Crime victims in Albany, Montgomery and Schenectady counties.

Areas of Responsibility:

LGBT Crime Victim Assistance Specialist will further implement the organization's anti-violence program in fulfillment of a grant for that purpose from the New York State Crime Victim's Services. Specifically, the person chosen will:

  • Provide Emergency assistance, Home/Hospital/Off-Site Visits
  • Staff In Our Own Voices' LGBT domestic violence referral line.
  • Attend court in Albany, Schenectady, and Montgomery counties
  • Recruit volunteers to provide direct services
  • Open New cases
  • Maintain written case notes
